Chair in informal care

Marjolein Broese van Groenou is full professor and holds a chair on ‚Informal Care in a Changing Society‘ at the Department of Sociology of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Till 2019, she was theme leader of the Institute of Societal Research’s theme Care and Welfare in a resilient society, and still coordinates the research theme Diversity in Care. She has been involved in the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA) since its start in 1992. Her research covers the social functioning of older adults, in particular the use and provision of informal care by older adults in a changing society.
